RSTB faves The Umbrellas follow up their Slumberland debut with a new single that splits release between a bevy of indie pop outlets – Meritorio, Fastcut, and Tear Jerk all have a hand in this one. It’s easy to see why so many want to get their heads into The Umbrellas’ business. The SF band’s sound balances breezy jangles with a growl of feedback fuzz that all comes to a head on “Write It In The Sky.” The song is a three-minute sprint through suragrush riffs with a sunshine scrub that nips at the heels of Talulah Gosh and The Field Mice.
