The Natvral – “Sun Blisters”

Another great song off of the upcoming LP from The Natvral (Kip from The Pains of Being Pure at Heat). The last time he was haunting these parts he’d ditched the indie pop for a bit of a Britpop slant, but “Sun Blisters” finds the distance even deeper than before, with Berman in full Dylan / Levon Helm guise, laying out a sweeping tale of disingenuous choices and the lies we tell ourselves to get through them. The video ties into the Americana ripple that’s threading through The Natvral’s debut — paralleling the rise of television’s prevalence in the home’s and its window to the world with the difficult choices that happened on the other side of the screen. The new record is yet another high water mark for Kip, with “Sun Blisters” exemplifying the reasons why. The new record is out on Kanine April 2nd.
