Spencer Cullum’s Coin Collection – “Kingdom Weather (feat. Yuma Abe)”

Avatar

A nice surprise this morning brings a new single from Sencer Cullum with another RSTB fave in tow on the collaboration. The Nashville songwriter pairs up with Yuma Abe, whose album on Temporal Drift was a welcome surprise last year. The single from the pair straddles the ‘70s saturated calm that hangs in the air between the Unhalfbricking epics and the Japanese country sighs of Chu Kosaka and Makoto Kubota. Laced with ambling guitar and fogged woodwinds, the song sets the tone nicely for Spencer’s follow-up to the self-titled album from last year. 2 finds its way out from Full Time Hobby January 29th and, alongside Abe, will feature vocal contributions from Dana Gavanski, Erin Rae, Dominic Billett, Caitlin Rose, and Annie Williams with some other RSTB familiar faces like Rich Ruth and Sean Thompson helping out as well.
