Sean Thompson’s Weird Ears – “Curse The Conscience”

Avatar

I’ve got another new single from the upcoming Sean Thompson’s Weird Ears debut and it only raises the bar for the anticipation on this one. While most of the album is doused in the rays of the Cosmic American sun, Sean opens up the influences on “Curse The Conscience.” The country swagger loosens here, a bright flash of keys glinting off the hot lights of the stage, melting nicely with the rumble of guitars for a track that’s caught pilfering the power pop till for a few moves. Like a Nashville take on The Cars, the track finds some nice parallels with that last King Tuff record. Sean proves he can toss a few roller rink date night moves into the mix and still come out dust caked enough to make it feel right at home with the rest of the album. The new single is out everywhere tomorrow, and his eponymous debut lands at the end of April. One of my year’s tops already, and I can’t recommend it enough. Get this one on repeat for the rest of the week.
