Papercuts – “I Want My Jacket Back”

Avatar

The new album announcements are stacking up today and this one is as lovely as the rest. Papercuts have long been haunting the site and Jason Quever keeps his influence rolodex constantly rotating over the course of his catalog. “I Want My Jacket Back” hits on some ‘60s folk-pop notes, sprinkling in a bit of Free Design, Sunforest, and Wendy & Bonnie, dousing the track in sunshine harmonies and autumnal strums. The cut is paired with a delightful video done in paper doll animation, depicting a ‘60s-leaning communal/cult society that gives the twee delivery a strangely sour underbelly. The new album, Past Life Regression, is out April 1st from Slumberland.
