An old fave of the site is back today with the announcement of a new album. There’s a quality to songs from UK outfit Martha that make each new single feel like its just always existed in your brain, spinning riffs and stacking choruses. “Baby, Does Your Heart Sink?” continues the tradition — a huge song that’s built on ‘90s power pop bravodo, chewy harmonies, and a lovesick theme that all feel like Martha doing what Martha does best. A tougue-in-cheek video complete with ‘industry professionals’ only cements the ‘90s connection. Between this and the just released Tony Molina LP, the end of summer pop snap just heated up. The band’s upcoming LP, Please Don’t Take Me Back, lands November on Dirtnap in the US.
