Magic Tuber Stringband – “Orb-Weaver”

Every time Magic Tuber String Band have a new offering, I fall in love all over again. Following up on their excellent 2021 album Wind Machines, the band has a new single and video entitled “Orb-Weaver.” The group’s simple, yet resplendent Appalachian folk is once again at the center here, letting the guitar and fiddle strings get as tangled as their subject matter. The song has an overcast beauty to it, playing with the light and shadows until it weaves a beautiful nest of plucks that bounce Courtney Werner’s fiddle lines back up into the air with a delicate dance. The single is out now directly from the duo’s Bandcamp.
