Leah Senior – “Pony”

It’s great to see RSTB fave Leah Senior back with a new record this year. The Australian songwriter makes a move from Flightless to Poison City Records for the upcoming The Music That I Make, but retains her understated folk ease on lead single “Pony.” Backed with a Super 8 video that dabbles in druid folklore, the song is soaked in afternoon sun. Senior’s songs are saturated with a natural splendor, with nods to British Folk and crossover appeal with West Coast Canyon crooners like Mapache and Pearl Charles. Over sauntered strums she stacks vocals in dazzling prism portions. It’s another excellent offering that begs some anticipation for the album when it lands August 18th.
