Keven Louis Lareau – “My Love Has Only Grown”

Avatar

Yet another amber-hued treasure out of Keven Louis Lareau this week. Lareau (Hand Habits, Cut Worms) is quickly becoming a favorite around here with his sun-swathed country singles. While the Ernie Graham covers showed his deft hand with others’ work, “My Love Has Only Grown,” returns Lareau to the warm glow of his originals. The song follows nicely as a companion piece to “Not All Songs Have Been Sung,” this time radiating a feeling somewhere between Gene Clark and The Stones covering Townes. He brings along Hamilton Belk agin on pedal steel and the two are getting a natural report that comes across like those Nesmith and Red Rhodes cuts released a couple of years back, comfortably worn in and grabbing the listener through to the last minute. Highly recommended you check this one out.
