Jim Nothing – “Yellow House”

Avatar

Got a nice slice of indie from Jim Nothing, who hail from down in Christchurch. The NZ band is back with their new album for Melted Ice Cream / Meritorio and the second single “Yellow House” is a crisp cut of jangly rock that echoes the ‘90s preening choruses, softened by a few decades of ringwear and rub. Shades of The Breeders being covered by The Go-Betweens creep into the sounds here, and honestly that’s a combo I didn’t know I needed to hear. The band features members of long-loved Kiwi janglers Salad Boys. Their new album, In The Marigolds, is out September 15th.
