Jeffrey Alexander + The Heavy Lidders – “Sequoia Seed Escape Pod”

Some good news from the Heavy Lidders camp this week, the band has a new, limited cassette up for grabs this week. The tape, Spacious Minds, will make its way out from Arrowhawk in June. Comprised of live cuts recorded primarily at Record Crates United’s backyard festivities last year, the collection captures that magic of that inaugural New Jersey garden party. The set kicks off with a massive 36+ minute “Dark Star” before winding its way into a heavy host of Lidders gems. A coiled and calm vision of the band’s live set arrives at the midpoint, “Sequoia Seed Escape Pod,” which you can preview down below. The set clears the way for an upcoming full length on the way later this fall. As always, its recommended that you tape into the Lidders, live or otherwise — any time, every time.
