UK songwriter Henry Parker taps into the UK mists on a new single from his upcoming album Lammas Fair. With smoke curls of flute, gentle picks and a ripple of hand percussion, the song wades into Fairport territory. Autumnal as hell, “Nine Herbs Charm” floats on crisp breezes steering just clear of psych-folk territory, but lapping nicely against the edges of the form. There’s a calm to the song that encourages the listener to lay back and let its currents take them wherever it wishes. The new album is out November 5th, a recommended listen for sure.
