Eric Silverman – “Lost Connection”

Avatar

A second single arrives from RSTB fave Eric Silverman. The West Coast songwriter rides the knife edge of nostalgia without ever tumbling towards pastiche. Filling the air with fumes of Floyd, Yes, and Young, filtered through acolytes from The War on Drugs to Soundtrack of our Lives, the new album is a heady dip into altered-dimensions cut to tape on Jerry Garcia’s old recording console. “Lost Connection” follows suit on the previous single “All In My Head” lacing Silverman’s pop with fried bouts of Roger Waters-esque guitar and a cocoon of synths provided by Adam Macdougall (Circles Around The Sun). The slightly crimped funk of the cut propels it’s charms through fried desert air and cocaine sweat, hurtling forward with a strange desperation that slowly infects the mind. The new album, Stay In It, is out March 1st from Curation Records.
