Doug Paisley – “Sometimes It’s So Easy”

This Doug Paisley album is definitely shaping up into one of my most anticipated releases of 2023. A second single from Say What You Like proves just as potent as the first, again leaning into the shadow of JJ Cale but in the end making it his own. “Sometimes It’s So Easy” is lighter than “Say What You Like,” and that’s reflected in the video’s tongue-in-cheek nod to the title, with Paisley playing the guitar while riding a bike through the park. Humor aside, the weight of Doug’s voice comes through on the track, a smoke and bourbon drawl that pairs nicely with the galloped strums and sighing slides. The new album is out March 17th from Outside Music.
