Dividers – “Spun Out”

Avatar

Following the blurred vision of alt-country that slipped out on their EP from last year, L.A.’s Dividers settle in for the long player, further obscuring their sound in a layer of hiss and heartache. “Spun Out” growls to life before hurling a few Uncle Tupelo twists and Pavement pathos down a hallway littered with the feedback froth that laces from Loop to No Age. There’s a warmth to the track, a kind of homespun serenity that’s buried beneath the rising tide of fizz. It’s a nice peek into the band’s bigger picture. The new album, Crime of Passion, lands June 17th on Primordial Void.
