Chime School – “Wait Your Turn”

Avatar

I honestly can’t get enough of this debut from Chime School, the solo outfit from Francisco musician Andy Pastalaniec (Seablite, Pink Films, Cruel Summer). A bit softer than the past offerings, “Wait Your Turn” is a gauzier side of the School, still hung on those jangled jaunts, but letting in a bit of organ swell behind the pop horizon. Like the sun glinting off the lens in the accompanying video, this one’s got a bit of a glare on it and it melds nicely with the rest of the album’s crisp saunter. Ticking all the indie pop boxes from Sarah to Subway and sounding like it might be just as at home with UK newcomers over at Tough Love and Prefect, the self-titled album is out November 5th, perfectly paired with the crew here at Slumberland Records.
