Bobbie Lovesong – “Watching From A Window”

Avatar

A second single wafts out of the upcoming Bobbie Lovesong LP, as effusive as the last. “Watching From a Window” finds the songwriter lost in her own haze, riding a propulsive beat, but with no urgent need to let it push her vocals and keys. The song folds a bit of the early aughts’ love for dubbed and drugged synth pop (think Nite Jewel, Puro Instinct) into the foam currently coming off of the West Coast indie pop scene, floating through some similar territory as April Magazine and Flowertown. Though Lovesong (or rather Madelyn Strutz) buries a classic pop lilt under her fog as well, finding her stuck between eras, unscrambling the cable clues of her past and future. The new album, On The Wind, is out January 20th from Woodsist.
