Bhajan Bhoy – “The Guiding Light”

Just starting to dive deep into this pair of releases from Feeding Tube and Cardinal Fuzz this year. Dutch artist Ajay Saggar, has let loose a few records under the Bhajan Bhoy banner and now he’s offering up a two-part odyssey of psychedelic raga, fuzz riffs, kosmiche float, acid-folk, and burnt ochre drones. The opener from To Love Is To Love (Vol 1) pairs Saggar with his Raga Arkestra, a hydra of sound that brings together percussion, winds, and bass including RSTB faves like Sheila Bosco (Dire Wolves) Ab Baars, Gayle Brogan, Holly Habstritt Gaal, Mees Siderius, Arvind Ganga, Aaron Lumley, Elsa v/d Linden, Ditmer Weertman. The dense, meditative, cocoon of Bhajan Bhoy’s sound is on full display on “The Guiding Light.” Both volumes are out now and highly recommended.
